Last week, the head of the traumatology team at the Alai center, Dr. Mikel Aramberri, attended a meniscal transplant operation with Dr. Joan Carles Monllau and his team at Hospital Sant Pau.

This intervention is performed in cases in which there is an important meniscal deficit that causes pain, in knees with conserved stability, normoalineation without highly evolved degeneration and in not very advanced ages. It is an operation that, although it generates considerable pain relief, it is necessary to carry out an individualized study of each case.
