Pince to retrieve sutures out of the skin.
Patent P200901415 and International Patent PCT/ES2010/000235:
Pince to retrieve sutures out of the skin.
Pinza saca-puntos.
The point-grab pince is designed to remove sewn stitches with any type of non-absorbable suture.
The point-grab pince consists of a distal mechanism characterized by 3 elements:
The shim, extension of the upper handle, the dam, extension of the upper portion of the lower handle, and the blade, extension of the lower handle.
These elements actuated thanks to the handles through a same axis, allow the activation of the pince with two independent functions.
The stitches are now removed using two hands, in one the scalpel blade is grasped and in the other a clamp that pulls the suture thread to cut and remove it. The point-grab pince allows this double function of grab and cut in a two-step action, by removing the point.
